Air Force Association Gold Coast Chapter 351 presents the 3rd Annual Aerospace Teacher's Workshop On Saturday, October 11, 2008, the Florida Gold Coast Chapter will present an Aerospace and Aviation workshop for science and math teachers K-12. Pompano Airpark will host an airport operations tour in the morning, followed by lunch and hands-on activities at Crystal Lakes Middle School Aerospace Lab. Workshops are geared toward utilizing aviation principles and resources into science and math curriculums. Teachers get an inside look at airport operations with the Pompano Airpark manager, get an up-close view of general aviation aircraft and speak with American Flyers certified instructors. Many pilots and ground personnel will be available to introduce the aviation industry to educators and how they can spark the love of aviation to their students. Teachers will leave with plenty of free curriculum material provided by Civil Air Patrol's Aerospace Education program, take your turn at a simulator and experience wonderful activities to incorporate in their classroom lessons. An airplane ride will be raffled! If you would like to donate to meeting the expenses of this worthy workshop, please send your donations to our Treasurer Joe Roberts, 10800 SW 57th Place, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33328 |
